PwC picks up Blinkx audit from Deloitte

Internet media company Blinkx has announced a change of auditor, ending a seven-year relationship with Deloitte as it appoints PwC as its external auditors

Blinkx, a content sharing service, is headquartered in San Francisco, with 15 offices worldwide and is listed on AIM in London.

The company said it had concluded a formal tender process for its statutory audit services, facilitated by Independent Audit Ltd, and ‘was delighted by the participation of many top-calibre firms throughout this process’.

The annual audit is valued at £297,500 and PwC will take up its role as statutory auditor for the financial year ending 31March 2015.

Shareholders will be asked to approve PwC's re-appointment at the AGM to be held in July 2015.

Mark Opzoomer, chairman of the company's audit committee, said: ‘We thank Deloitte for their diligent work and significant contribution as Blinkx's auditor over many years and look forward to working with PricewaterhouseCoopers.’

Deloitte became Blinkx’s auditors in 2007. According to the 2014 annual report, Blinkx paid $462,000 (£297,512) in audit and assurance fees for the financial year ending 31 March 2014, plus a further $441,000 (£283,989) for tax services, corporate finance and other non-audit services, making a total of $903,000 (£581,502).
