HMRC plans to help employers improve PAYE information

HMRC has announced plans to roll out an initiative to help employers improve the quality of data provided on their employees. Targeted Employer Support (TES) will assist around 1,000 employers identified by HMRC as having the most issues with data quality.

TES will include tailored, face-to-face visits, enabling HMRC and employers to work together to address data quality problems, and help employers improve their Pay As You Earn (PAYE) information.

HMRC has identified that the key issue is in matching data sent by employers to HMRC with its existing records. The main problems are:
