Typhoo Tea rescued by vape seller for £10.2m

AIM listed Supreme has acquired the trade and assets of Typhoo Tea after the long-established tea brand went into administration

Supreme paid £10.2m for the 120-year-old company, including Typhoo Tea’s stock and trade debtors with a book value of £7.5m and the integration of the business is expected to proceed without disruption to existing operations.

Typhoo Tea collapsed last week and Kroll administrators were appointed with rescue talks at an ‘advanced stage’ at the time.

Supreme is a wholesale distributor of batteries, lighting, vaping products such as Elfbar and 88Vape, and nutrition drinks, and the acquisition will help the business diversify, particularly in light of government plans to ban single use vapes from July 2025.
