The free-to-use, web-based biodiversity risk filter (BRF) is designed to help companies and investors better understand their impacts and dependencies on nature.

Launched at the World Economic Forum in Davos this week, the risk tool uses 50 datasets from organisations including NASA, the World Bank and International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

The BRF tool includes information on species and ecosystems, protected areas, and the most important pressures on biodiversity such as deforestation, habit destruction, pollution, and land use change for agriculture.

It is the first ever platform that brings together such a diverse range of data on biodiversity-related risks.
