Xeinadin acquires Devonports LAS Accountants

Private equity backed Xeinadin continues on the acquisition trail after a deal with Devonports LAS Accountants, expanding its reach in Essex

Co-founders and directors Ian Hornsey and Tim Howard will continue to run Devonports LAS, alongside a team of 19 professionals, providing accountancy and business services to over 3,500 clients.

Devonports LAS Accountants was set up after the 2022 merger of Devonports Accountants, set up by Hornsey in 1994, with LAS Partnership, set up by Howard in 1996. This merger took place in October 2022, creating combined fee income in excess of £2m.

The decision to pursue the Xeinadin deal was driven in part by the directors’ future plans as the partnership addresses the immediate needs of succession planning and futureproofs the firm against changes within the accounting profession.

The acquisition includes two offices located in Southend and Maldon in Essex, and firm will keep its name with a minor rebrand to include the strapline, ‘A Xeinadin Company’.
