Three of the Big Four firms made it to the list with KPMG taking second place, PwC sixth, and Deloitte in 12th with Grant Thornton taking fourth place.

It is the second year that HMRC has entered with the tax authority ranking eighth compared to its ranking of 44th last year. 

The top employer was the Manchester law firm Browne Jacobson LLP.
