Accountant sports fan dies at Olympics

A chartered accountant who was a sports fanatic and made it his mission to attend the Olympics every day, has died while watching a cycling event at the games.

Conrad Readman, 49, from Colchester spent months buying tickets from overseas websites and booked two weeks off work to visit dozens of events at London 2012.

According to his online diary, Readman watched up to three sports a day during the first week of competition, and had seen 16 different sports as well as the opening ceremony.

Readman suffered a heart attack at the Velodrome after seeing Victoria Pendleton and the British team sprint trio win gold.
