Advanced driving training provider hits the wall

Tyrone Courtman and Nick Edwards of PKF Cooper Parry have been appointed as joint administrators of Safety Problem Solutions Ltd (SPS), a training provider which has collapsed with the loss of 38 jobs.

Based in Nottingham, SPS offered more than more than 400 driving and safety-related courses, with locations nationwide. Many of its courses were government funded.

Nick Edwards, PKF Cooper Parry partner and joint administrator said: ‘Due to difficult trading conditions and a series of issues with the way the courses were funded, SPS has gone into administration.

'While we always try, where possible, to protect the business and the jobs of the staff, in this case trading on was not practical. We have started a wind down of the business in such a way as to minimise disruption to the learners, whilst protecting as far as possible the position of the company's creditors.’

SPS had more than 850 learners carrying out workplace training and apprenticeships across a range of different business sectors.
