Anna Anthony first woman to head up EY

EY has appointed Anna Anthony as regional managing partner, the first woman to lead one of the Big Four as partners choose financial services chief

The partners at the Big Four firm have elected Anthony as the next UK & Ireland regional managing partner, effective from 1 January 2025. She will be responsible for leading the UK’s third largest professional services business with more than 20,000 people and is the first woman to hold the position.

In order to meet UK Audit Firm Governance Code rules, EY will also split the role of regional managing partner and chair going forward, which is currently held by Hywel Ball. He will continue as UK chair until a separate selection process for this position has been completed early in the new year at which time he will leave the business.
