Midlands-based firm Baldwins has merged with accountants and insolvency experts Griffith & Griffith in Sutton Coldfield.
All staff at the 110-year-old Griffith & Griffith firm will be retained by Baldwins while the insolvency side of the practice will still be run by George Griffith under the George H W Griffith Ltd banner.
Griffiths, who is retiring from the general practice after joining Griffith & Griffith 37 years ago, said the company had been founded by his great-grandfather Captain George Griffith in 1903.
'I am pleased Baldwins has acquired the business because there are many similarities between the companies as we are both family orientated and have an identical ethos to business.'
Richard Clayton, partner at Baldwins, who will run the new operation, said: 'We are focused on a similar market of dealing with clients in this part of Birmingham predominantly owner managed, family businesses and charities. Our clients benefit from a broad range of in-house services and expertise as well as having access to a wider range of services that as a larger company we can provide.'
