The listed company said that BDO had requested more time to complete its audit quality control standard procedures.  

Galliford Try Holdings' results were due to be published this Thursday, 19 September, but the group will provide an update with a revised results date in due course.

In last year’s annual report for FY23, the board noted that the company had completed a board effectiveness review, and one of its recommendations focused on the external auditors, stating that the group would ‘continue to work tougher to find ways in which working relations can be strengthened’.

BDO has been auditor for six years since it was appointed in 2018 to replace PwC. The mid-tier firm earned £2.4m in audit fees for the group and subsidiaries for FY23, up from £1.1m in FY22. The extra fees were due to additional work ‘in respect of additional costs related to the 2022 audit’.
