As Bermuda signed its twelfth tax sharing agreement with the Netherlands yesterday, the jurisdiction climbed up to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development's 'White List' for substantially implementing its international standard. Bermuda's minister of finance, Paula Cox expressed that the jurisdiction had worked hard to move up from the 'grey list' to achieve top status and 'wholeheartedly endorsed the OECD's objective'. The U.K., U.S., Australia, New Zealand, Sweden and the Faroe Islands are just a few of the countries that Bermuda has signed tax agreements with to meet with the OECD's target to combat global tax evasion and avoidance.
