Catherine Deegan and her father Gerard Deegan fraudulently obtained £65,000 in bounce back loan funds which their businesses were not eligible for.

Following an Insolvency Service investigation into the covid loan fraud abuse, both Deegans were sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court this week.

Gerard Deegan, of Lydiate, was sentenced to 16 months in prison, suspended for 18 months. The 65-year-old was placed under an electronically monitored curfew between 6pm and 6am for the next eight months and disqualified as a company director for 10 years.
