In anticipation of infringement of European companies’ trade secrets, the EU introduced the Trade Secrets Directive (EU) 2016/943 on 8 June 2016 covering ‘protection of know-how and undisclosed information (trade secrets) against illegal acquisition, use, and disclosure’.
