Budget 2017: capital gains tax - key measures

Taxation of carried interest

Finance Bill 2018 will include legislation to ensure that asset managers receiving carried interest pay CGT on the full economic gain.

It is intended that these changes will remove the special treatment afforded to carried interest that arises in connection with disposals of assets before certain dates in 2015.

The changes have immediate effect (ie, from 22 November 2017).
