An award-winning Yorkshire house builder has collapsed into administration after more than 30 years of trading.

On 2 January 2013, Deloitte's Adrian Peter Berry and Daniel Francis Butters were appointed joint administrators of Britannia Developments Limited, which was awarded Home Builder of the Year in 2002/2003 and was also a top 10 finalist in the British Housebuilder Awards (2006 & 2007).

The Farnley-based company operated across West and South Yorkshire.

It had seven development sites with scores of unsold properties on them, as well as three unfinished developments when it fell into administration.

It also owns a several parcels of development land and part-exchange properties.

A spokeswoman for Deloitte confirmed that all 22 employees have been made redundant.

The developer once turned over more than £34m in 2006 peak but had suffered during the recession, posting £1m-plus pre-tax losses between 2008 and 2010.
