Business groups are calling on the government to produce clear and concise guidance on how to ensure workplace safety after the Prime Minister announced his Living with Covid-19 plan which means all restrictions will be lifted from 24 February.

The plan stated that mandatory isolation after testing positive for Covid-19 and free workplace and public testing is to be removed with tests costing £20 for a box of six. The temporary change to statutory sick pay has also been removed from 24 March with workers only able to claim from the fourth day of contracting Covid-19 rather than from day one.

Businesses and employers have voiced their apprehensions as they are ‘flying blind’ with the main concern being that there is no clear discretion to set and enforce their own policies.
