CABA, which offers support to past and present ICAEW members and their families, is celebrating its 130th anniversary, as it reviews the organisation’s evolution from a financial support organisation to its present role providing extensive support to the accountancy community on health, wellbeing and legal issues, and of course, financial support for those in need
Kath Haines, CABA’s chief executive, said: ‘CABA has changed significantly over its 130-year history, and it’s great to see how the needs of past and present ICAEW members and their families can be met in such a diverse way.
‘CABA has a plethora of support services and a clear strategy to help more past and present ICAEW members and their families by 2020. The future looks bright for CABA and I am sure we will continue to help more and more people over the next 130 years.’
Since 1886, CABA has strengthened its offering and now takes a holistic approach towards wellbeing, recognising the pressures faced by those living and working in today’s complex, fast paced, and digital world. This support covers a wide focus, with help to address financial, physical, emotional and career development needs and is available to a global community of over 500,000 people in more than 160 countries.
CABA has also considered the challenges it faces over the next 10 years and the organisation believes the continued changes to welfare provision, and balancing this against the needs of members, will see its already wide range of services grow even further. It also expects to see the continuation of the trend of ICAEW members wanting to give back, a sentiment which has grown strongly in the past few years.
