The future of four Northamptonshire care homes, run as a charity, is uncertain after the owners of William Blake House Northants, Towcester, appointed administrators after failure to pay £1.5m tax bill, having ignored HMRC demands for payment.   

William Blake House Northants (WBHN) ran four residential homes providing residential care, support and activities for young adults with learning disabilities and had been running since it was first set up as a charity in 2021.

But major financial and governance concerns about the charity were raised with the charity regulator in November 2025, prompting a statutory inquiry three months later.
