KPMG and PKF Littlejohn face audit probe into collapsed Prax oil group

Regulator opens triple investigation into KPMG and PKF Littejohn for audit work on Prax Group companies, and unnamed accountant, in run-up to collapse of oil refinery with millions in debt

The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) has opened three separate investigations into the audits and financing arrangements of Prax Group companies, part of the oil refinery giant, in the years before it went into liquidation in July 2025.

Two major UK audit firms and an unnamed accountant will be investigated in a swift turnaround investigation for the FRC, just 14 months since the business went into liquidation.
