A new website targeting UK GAAP users has been launched by CCH, part of Wolters Kluwer, to build awareness of FRS 102, the new accounting standard replacing UK GAAP from 2015.
The Financial Reporting Council released FRS 102, the Financial Reporting Standard Applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland in March. It will replace UK accounting standards for periods beginning from 1 January 2015.
The website, www.newukgaap.co.uk,includes a timeline to implementation, articles and analysis on the key differences between the existing standard and new UK GAAP, advice on how to early adopt and a handy checklist and quiz to verify whether you are ready for the transition and what measures need to be taken to be ready for full adoption.
Julia Penny, content manager, audit and accounting at CCH, who has been the driving force behind the launch of www.newukgaap.co.uk said: 'The idea of the new website is to create buzz and interest around new UK GAAP.
'The aim is to build awareness and get people preparing for the new UK GAAP. There will be lots of new technical content and advice on adopting the new standards, as well as a readiness quiz for preparers to assess their preparations before implementing the new standard.
'On a technical accounting front, we haven't done anything like this before and it will be a very dynamic site with regularly updated content and an accounting news feed from Accountancy Live.'
The Financial Reporting Council published the new UK GAAP, FRS 102, in March 2013, with earlier guidance, FRS 100 and FRS 101 released last autumn.
