Charities gain more financial control as rules updated

The latest changes to the Charities Act 2022 are now in force giving charity trustees greater flexibility when selling charity land and using endowments

The Charity Commission has updated guidance following the introduction of the latest rule changes under the Charities Act 2022, effective from 14 June.

Significant changes include greater flexibility for trustees when seeking to dispose of charity land and new powers around the use of permanent endowment.

Other changes now in place include simplified legal requirements that charities must comply with before selling, transferring or leasing land.
