Charities warned not to use cash couriers

The Charity Commission has told charities to ensure that they do not use high risk cash couriers, particularly when taking money overseas

The regulator is warning that cash couriering increases the risk of seizure or forfeiture of charitable funds.

Following changes to the law on carrying cash and continued cases involving the seizure of charitable funds held as cash by the police and officers of UK ports, the Charity Commission and SO15 Counter Terrorism Command, Metropolitan Police Service (SO15) is once again reminding charities not to send cash overseas via couriers.
