A group of 42 chartered bodies representing over 1.5m members under the umbrella of the Chartered Week Alliance have written to Pat McFadden, works and pensions secretary asking the government to offer stronger support for chartered professionals and ‘promote chartered status for all professionals’.

The Chartered Week Alliance said: ‘Bodies should be key partners of government as it builds trust in the public and business services’ and called for closer cooperation with specialist professions, including accountancy and law.
