Cheers! Wine merchant in administration finds buyer

Revelstoke Wine Company which found itself in administration has been sold on as a going concern saving six jobs.

The wine merchant, from Raynes Park in South West London, which specialised in sourcing wines from small independent producers to sell to upscale hotels and event organisers got into financial difficulties.

Insolvency practitioners' SFP were appointed joint administrators on 24 August 2012.

SFP group partner, Simon Plant, said: 'The Revelstoke Wine Company had a fairly substantial debt that it could not pay, but following a brief trading spell I am pleased to confirm that a going concern sale of the business has taken place, providing continuity for its customers and safeguarding a number of jobs.'
