David Hill and Steve Wade of Begbies Traynor have been appointed as joint administrators of Dinamo Productions Ltd, a company specialising in children's animation programmes, which has ceased trading.
Based in Wales, Dinamo produced a number of children's series for the BBC, S4C and independent TV production companies, as well as animations for use on mobile phones and computers. Its best known work is on the classic children's animation programme Abadas which appears on the Cbeebies channel.
The administrators said the company's administration was the result of a challenging few years for the animation industry in the UK as a whole and Dinamo's ongoing commitment to a large production facility which had become a burden on its finances. All 27 staff have been made redundant, although most have found alternative employment.
The directors are now seeking finance to fund investment and create new production partnerships to secure the future of Dinamo.
Steve Wade, joint administrator and director at Begbies Traynor said: 'We are looking forward and exploring options where the Dinamo brand will continue to produce and develop content collaboratively with UK and international partners.'
