CIPFA is to begin delivering accountancy and finance apprenticeships from autumn this year, after being accepted onto the Education and Skills Funding Agency’s (ESFA) register of apprenticeship training providers
Giles Orr, director of learning delivery and partnership at CIPFA, said: ‘Right across the public sector we are seeing tremendous changes in the way services are delivered and in order to meet these challenges it is vital that the right people, with the right skills, are in place – particularly when it comes to managing finances.
‘The apprenticeship levy demonstrates that the government is serious about nurturing the next generation of public sector professionals and ensuring we are not left with a skills gap.’
To help public sector organisations navigate the apprenticeship levy, CIPFA has produced guidance that explains the new policy and how it will impact public bodies.
CIPFA will also be hosting an open day on 15 June, which will help public sector bodies understand their apprenticeship requirements and will provide an introduction to CIPFA’s apprenticeships offer.
The levy, apprenticeships and the public sector is here.
