Cloud computing risks top concern for finance bosses

IT risks due to cloud software currently top the list of cyber security concerns that corporate leaders believe will have a significant impact on their organisations in 2023

As companies continue to move to the cloud, some companies are benefitting more than others, according to PwC’s annual Digital Trust Insights report.

Just over a quarter (27%) of global CFOs in the survey said they had experienced a data breach in the past three years that cost their organisation more than $1m (£800,000), the PwC research found.

Nearly eight out of 10 (78%) of corporate bosses said that cloud had been adopted in most or all aspects of their business.

However, around 39% expected cloud-based risks to significantly affect their organisations throughout the year, more so than cyber risks from other source such as laptop endpoints, web applications and software supply chains.
