Companies should improve positive culture in response to Covid-19

The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) urges companies to use the after effect of the Covid-19 pandemic to incorporate a positive working culture into their business model

The report, Creating Positive Culture Opportunities and Challenges, states that the pandemic has challenged the ‘resilience and agility’ of companies and has caused organisations to quickly adapt their strategies, business models, and processes.

The FRC states that in response to the changing corporate environment, businesses should embed a new positive culture as companies can strengthen their business models and better manage their resources by aligning their company’s culture with purpose, values, and strategy.

The report, which follows up on the FRC’s 2016 research, compiles research from 134 entities which included 13 roundtables and 24 in-depth interviews which the FRC found there was an increased awareness of what is meant by ‘positive culture’ both in terms of mindset, policies, and actions.
