Contracts manager jailed for £170k payroll fraud

A contracts manager who diverted funds from his employer’s payroll system has been jailed for three years after stealing £170,000

Hoover Yasno Moreno from Spain stole almost £170,000 by claiming non-existent overtime payments and diverting money from the company’s payroll system to a network of accounts he had access to.

Moreno was employed as a contract manager at a company which provided cleaning services to a financial institution in the City of London. During his employment, he submitted fictitious overtime claims into accounts in either his name or to accounts which he had some control over.

He then transferred the money to his personal bank accounts so that he could spend the money on an off-plan house in Colombia, along with several holidays.
