For the year end 31 March 2021, Crowe achieved revenues of more than £100m for the first time in its history, marking 9% growth against the backdrop of the pandemic and although the firm used some furlough support, this was paid back before the end of 2020.

Profitability was up on 2020 with the firm reporting profit before tax of £31m, up by a third from £23.5m on the previous year’ although a one-off charge of £13.5m for past service pension charges dented this figure. This resulted in year end profit of £17.4m, down from £23.4m in 2020, before partner remuneration was calculated.

The average partner profit payout was £215,000 based on 87 partners at the firm, down from £286,000 the previous year.
