Over a three-month period HMRC identified £8.7m in unpaid tax by the businesses and individuals named in the quarterly list, this figure was £25m less than the £33.7m identified in the last quarter.
There were two entries from the world of accountancy and auditing in the most recent tax defaulters list and they were the accountancy practice, Taxation and Accountancy Solutions Limited. Incorporated in 2013 the firm racked up a £197,298.09 penalty after it defaulted £439,750 worth of tax between September 2013 to 31 Aug 2019.
The firm received a compulsory strike off notice in July 2018 which was discontinued in August of 2018. According to Companies House, Taxation and Accountancy Solutions Limited is still active, however its most recent accounts were labelled under ‘Accounts for a dormant company.’
