PKF name to go in UK after BDO merger

In what is described as the first significant unforced merger since Price Waterhouse and Coopers & Lybrand came together in 1998, the name of PKF is set to disappear once it joins forces with larger mid-tier rival BDO next year.

PKF, which can trace its origins back to 1869, will join forces with the UK’s sixth largest firm BDO to form a firm that will have a combined fee income approaching £400m. The move comes as BDO announced a fee income for all member firms of $6.015bn (£3.8bn) for 2011/12.
