In the latest move towards digital tax accounts for individuals and business, Accenture has won a further phase for the IT contract with HMRC. The IT giant will provide software development for the individual taxpayers’ digital tax accounts which are set to go live in 2018. This is a key part of the tax authority’s ambitious Making Tax Digital initiative.

Under the terms of the four-year agreement, which runs to June 2020, Accenture will develop, implement and maintain a secure, cloud-hosted IT platform for individual taxpayers. The services will be run out of the Accenture delivery centre in Newcastle.
