Dodwell: could 2017 be the year for radical US tax reform?

The outcome of the US Presidential and Congress elections has sparked significant interest in US tax reform. Both the Senate and the House of Representatives have done considerable work on tax reform in previous years and, while there appeared to be general agreement that change is needed, no agreement was reached on its shape.

Since the Republican Party has majorities in both the Senate and the House of Representatives, could 2017 be the year for tax reform? President-elect Trump included tax proposals in his campaign.
