Elliott takes over at SC

Rob Elliott is to become the new managing partner of top 20 firm Saffery Champness. He takes over the reins from Clive Nicholson, who has headed up the firm for the past 12 years, on 1 April 2002.

Elliott is currently finance director at the firm and first became a partner there in October 1987. He originally trained with Armitage & Norton and is the son of an accountant. As managing partner, he will be in charge of 43 partners and more than 370 staff.

He's very much looking forward to the new role and to developing the firm's expertise in working for private clients, charities and landed estates. 'Following in Clive's footsteps will be a difficult task,' he said, 'and he is to be thanked for his immense contribution over the past 12 years. During this time, the firm has built up its strong regional network and consistent growth in London has culminated in our recent move to larger premises at Lion House.'
