With its economy powering ahead, China’s accountancy profession is on the fast track, writes Philip Smith

Speaking from the ICAEW’s office in Beijing, Douglas Lau is optimistic about the accountancy profession’s future in China. As the institute’s recently appointed regional director for Greater China, Lau is well placed to see the opportunities, and the challenges, that face accountants in the world’s second largest economy.
