EU sets date for newly convened tax group meeting

The European Commission has confirmed details of the accounting groups, business stakeholders and lobbyists who will be members of the recently set up 'platform for tax good governance, aggressive tax planning and double taxation.

The first meeting of the group is scheduled for 10 June in Brussels before the G8 meeting in Northern Ireland.

The platform will assist the Commission in preparing its report on measures to encourage third countries to apply minimum standards of good governance in tax matters and on aggressive tax planning.

The group will be chaired by director-general of DG Taxations and Customs Union, Heinz Zourek.
