Bolton Wanderers has announced that it has been granted a third and final adjournment of 14 days by the High Court in respect of the winding up petition brought by HMRC over an unpaid bill for £2.2m in tax and VAT at the football club
The adjournment is to give the club, currently bottom of the Championship, time to complete a sale of the controlling interest.
Bolton Wanderers has received conditional approval from the Football League to the transfer of ownership to the Sports Shield consortium led by Dean Holdsworth which is set to offer £7.5m. Current owner Eddie Davies has said he expects the deal to be done within the next week.
In a statement, Bolton Wanderers said: ‘The board would again like to thank all staff at the club for their loyalty and unfaltering commitment to the cause through this incredibly difficult period.’
