Most things the Managing Director said were decisive, he was that kind of a guy.

He was also a Sales guy at heart who tended to think the answer to every problem was to sit around a table to ‘sort things out’.

I liked the Managing Director but this habit lead to the main bone of contention between us.

Whenever one of our clients owed us money his first reaction was always for me to traipse over to their office and have a meeting and ‘find out what’s going on’.

Now, in every case I knew exactly what was going on, they weren’t paying us the money they owed us because they were trying to manage their cashflow.
