Stanley Miller, 64, from Ryton in Gateshead, was jailed in 2018 for eight years and three months after he was caught out in a complex series of frauds, pieced together by HMRC.

It was discovered that he stole £5.8m in VAT, income tax, and National Insurance contributions (NICs) between May 2008 and May 2016. The case involved three limited companies, with each company defrauding HMRC on a large scale.

Miller was the director of three companies namely MGM, SLM and T-TE, with control of and responsibility for their financial affairs.
