Funeral payment plan Safe Hands goes bust

Funeral planning company Safe Hands has gone into administration saying that over 45,000 customers are unlikely to be refunded their down payments

Nedim Ailyan and Ben Stanyon of FRP Advisory have been appointed as joint administrators.

The directors of the Wakefield based company hired FRP Advisory to oversee the insolvency process with the company stating that the business was ‘unsustainable in its current form’ after a ‘period of severe financial challenge’ which included the strain caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The insolvency has put 45,000 policy holders at risk with FRP Advisory stating that Safe Hands is no longer providing funeral planning services to existing customers, as its current plans have been terminated. The company is also no longer taking any direct debit or standing order payments.
