The high level of staff turnover is putting pressure on accountancy firms as they struggle to hire qualified professionals.

A third of accountants are less than fully satisfied with their jobs, with many changing jobs in a search for a better benefits package, revealed the findings of a survey by recruitment firm Sellick Partnership.

Nearly half (49%) of respondents had changed roles in the past two years with 35% stating that they were either slightly or significantly underpaid.

When asked about the most important aspects of a job offer, the most popular response was salary (57%), followed by flexible working and having a career development plan (38%).
