Help to Buy ISA paid out £674m of bonuses

The Help to Buy ISA scheme has helped fund 460,567 property purchases with bonuses totalling £674m since its introduction in 2015

According to recent figures, released by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) and the Treasury, since the introduction of the scheme in December 2015 and 30 September 2021, the Help to Buy ISA has provided funding for 604,720 house purchases with bonuses totalling £674m, with the average bonus value being £1,115.

The highest number of overall property completions with the support of the scheme was in the north west which saw 43,939 purchases, then it was Yorkshire and the Humber with 44,848 purchases.

The lowest numbers were seen in the north east which saw 19,478 purchases and Northern Ireland which had 13,484.
