HMRC delays RTI reporting on employee hours and dividends

Plans to force employers to include details of employee working hours and dividends paid to directors on PAYE real time information reports are on hold

HMRC has confirmed that the reporting requirement to provide more detailed employees’ hours data through PAYE RTI returns will not go ahead from April 2025 as planned.

A government spokesperson told Accountancy Daily: ‘We are reviewing the proposed changes and timelines, and will provide a further update following this work.’

The original proposals put forward by the Conservatives in July 2022 would have seen a mandatory reporting requirement to disclose exact working hours of staff as well as detailed information on the amount of dividends paid to directors from 6 April 2025.
