HMRC ordered to pay legal costs after ‘unreasonable’ actions

The First Tier Tribunal (FTT) has ordered HMRC to cover costs incurred to appeal a penalty that was dropped on the fourth day of a hearing as it was found to have been unreasonable

Advanced Hair Technologies (AHT), run by Dr Bessam Farjo, has won an appeal against HMRC at the FTT where the company claimed that HMRC should pay for some of the costs as it believed HMRC had acted unreasonably throughout the hearing.

Dr Farjo is a highly qualified hair restoration surgeon and a fellow of the International College of Surgeons, and previous president of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery.
