International tax reform creates uncertainty for tax profession

Dropping in on the ATT/CIOT London Branch International Tax Conference at King’s College on Tuesday provided a rather frightening glimpse into a very uncertain world, reports Paul Robbins, tax expert at Wolters Kluwer

Each presentation seemed to add new examples of changes (some imminent) which are not fully explained, but which are likely to require significant planning and resources.

More than one presenter appeared to be lamenting the days when providing comments on Budget changes in their area didn’t detain them long.

Even EU State Aid - traditionally something which little impinged on tax advisers - is starting to feel less certain.
