Stephen Timms, the financial secretary to the Treasury, has called on other jurisdictions to follow the example of Jersey with its commitment to signing tax information exchange agreements.
Timms said: 'Jersey's firm commitment to transparency and exchange of information in tax matters is very encouraging and I call on others to follow their example.'
Jersey has now signed 14 agreements with other jurisdictions including Australia, Denmark, Faroe Isles, France, UK and the US.
The island has also indicated it is interested in implementing high standards of anti-money laundering legislation.
