Much of the UK will be in heatwave conditions by the coming weekend, warns Met Office, with temperatures set to hit 33C
CIPD advises employers to embrace flexible working options to help employees keep cool during this week’s heatwave.
On Wednesday the highest temperatures in the UK are expected to be around 27ºC. On Thursday this will rise to 29ºC and by Saturday more locations will exceed heatwave values, with the highest temperatures expected to exceed 30ºC.
In response to this week’s heatwave across parts of the country, the CIPD recommends steps employers can take to ensure the wellbeing of their staff.
Rachel Suff, employee relations adviser at the CIPD, the professional body for HR and people development, said: ‘During periods of hot weather employers should take proactive steps to ensure the wellbeing and comfort of their staff.
