England recorded its driest July on record with just 6.5mm of rainfall recorded – just 10% of its long-term meteorological average for the month, and less than half of the previous record of 13.4mm set in 1911, according to the Met Office. More than half the country has hosepipe bans and temperatures are expected to exceed 38C again with an amber alert in force. It’s hot, and it’s bothering workers across the UK. 

My client has a small factory with an office attached and they employ a mixture of site based and remote working staff. With the hot weather, some of their employees are complaining that it is too hot to work, especially those who are based in the factory, where the temperature is more difficult to control, and those working remotely, such as at home where there isn’t any air conditioning.
