According to figures from the Met Office, June 2025 was the warmest June on record in England, and the second warmest in the UK since records began in 1884. It’s hot, and it’s bothering workers across the UK. 

My client has a small factory with an office attached and they employ a mixture of site based and remote working staff. With the hot weather, some of their employees are complaining that it is too hot to work, especially those who are based in the factory, where the temperature is more difficult to control, and those working remotely, such as at home where there isn’t any air conditioning.

What are my client’s obligations towards their employees and what can they do to help them?
